God’s goodness is but the inclination and resolve of His nature to promote the welfare and happiness of His creatures. This more general attribute of goodness may be manifested in the delay of penal judgment, in which case we speak of God’s longsuffering. God’s goodness as manifested in the restoration of the wretched is what the Bible calls mercy. Likewise, God’s goodness as manifested toward the guilty and undeserving is referred to in Scripture as grace.

INGREDIENTS

8	oz	Canadian bacon,
12		Shrimp, med, shelled 12 slices
1		Red bell pepper,
1 1/2	tb	Teriyaki sauce cut into 12 strips
1 1/2	tb	Chili sauce
1	tb	Hoisin sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Place bacon on rack; cover with paper towel. Microwave on High 1
minutes; pat dry on paper towel. Let cool slightly. 2. Wrap one shrimp and
one pepper strip in each piece of bacon; secure with wooden pick. Place in
11x7" baking dish. 3. In small bowl, combine the teriyaki, chili and hoisin
sauces with 2 T. water; pour over shrimp. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours,
turning once. 4. Uncover and microwave on High 3-4 minutes, until shrimp is
cooked through. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

In summary, God's perfections constitute His essence, or character, which far transcends all created things in greatness. God's essence is one indivisible whole, so that each and all of His perfections actively characterize God's entire being. God's perfections must be thought of as always actively present together and mutually influencing each other without any hierarchy, even when they are not all mentioned in a given passage of Scripture. God in His essential nature is truly beyond human understanding, and the only appropriate responses to studying even the fringes of His ways (cf. Job 26:14) are awe-filled reverence, worship, adoration, trust, and service.
