INGREDIENTS

1 1/4 lb Ground beef
1 cn (14 1/2 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cn (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1/2 c Chopped onion
1 Clove garlic, minced
1 tb Brown sugar
1 ts Seasoned salt
1 ts Chili powder
1/2 ts Ground cumin
1/8 ts Dried thyme
1/8 ts Savory
1/8 ts Marjoram
1/8 ts Oregano
1/8 ts Parsley flakes
1 cn (8 3/4 oz.) navy beans, rinsed and drained
1 cn (8 3/4 oz.) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 cn (8 3/4 oz.) lima beans, rinsed and drained
5 Pita breads, halved
1/2 c Shredded cheddar cheese, optional

INSTRUCTIONS

In a heavy suacepan or Dutch oven, brown beef; drain. Add tomatoes, tomato
sauce, onion, garlic, brown sugar and seasonings. Cover and simmer for 1
hour, stirring occasionally. Stir in beans; heat through. Spoon about 1/2
cup into each pita half. Top with cheese if desired. Yield 5 servings.
