Berry Cobbler

INGREDIENTS

1 qt Fresh berries
1/2 c Sugar
Few drops of rosewater
1 c Cornmeal
1/4 c Sugar
1 ts Baking powder
1 ts Salt
1/2 c Sour milk or buttermilk
2 tb Melted butter
1/4 c Saskatchewan or Manitoba honey
1 tb Melted butter
Juice of 1/2 a lemon

INSTRUCTIONS

Clean the berries, place them in a 2-qt. baking dish, sprinkle with sugar
and rosewater.
Mix together the cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt. Quickly stir in
the buttermilk and the melted butter (2 tbsp). Mix gently.
Drop this batter by tablespoons on top of the sweetened berries forming a
design of rounds.
Mix together the honey, butter (1 tbsp) and lemon juice. Pour over the
berries and biscuits. Bake in a 375 degree F oven 40 to 45 minutes. Serve
tepid with rich cream.
NOTES : Use Saskatoon berries, strawberries or blueberries.
