INGREDIENTS

Black beans; sorted and washed

Brown rice

Onion; peeled (but do not chop)

Bay leaves

Cloves garlic; (4 to 5)
INSTRUCTIONS
Cover beans with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium low.
Add onion, whole. Add spices. Cook until beans are almost tender. Add rice,
reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes. Turn heat off and allow to sit,
covered, for 30 minutes or more. Serve with soy sauce.
