Here is one from an old "Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook":
Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and beat well. Stir in milk, then bran.
Add flour sifted with baking powder and salt; stir until dry ingredients
are just moistened.
Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full and bake in hot oven (425) 20 to 25
minutes. Any type of bran may be successfully used in this recipe. Makes 1
dozen muffins.
