INSTRUCTIONS
An annual Old World plant in the pea family, having pinnately compound
leaves, white flowers with lateral purplish blotches, and long, thick
pods. Description: Large, about 1 1/4 inches long, oval-shaped,
thicker at the bottom end. Where the ridge is split , there is a dark
line. the color is light brown. Characteristics: Creamy texture,
nutty flavor. Availability: The dried variety is available whole in
skins or peeled and split and somewhat smaller in size. Ethnic stores
and some supermarkets sell favas fresh, as well as in cans and jars.
