INGREDIENTS

1	c	Shortening
2	c	Brown sugar
2		Eggs
1/2	c	Buttermilk or water
3 1/2	c	Flour
1	ts	Soda
1	ts	Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix shortening, sugar & eggs thoroughly. Stir in buttermilk. Stir
flour, soda & salt together; blend into sugar mixture. Chill at least
1 hour. Heat oven to 400. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls of dough about
2" apart on lightly greased sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes.
