INGREDIENTS
| 1/2 | c | Shortening |
| 2 | (1-oz) squares chocolate or- cocoa and butter | |
| 1 | c | Sugar |
| 2 | Eggs; beaten | |
| 1 | ts | Vanilla |
| 3/4 | c | Flour |
| 1/2 | ts | Baking powder |
| 1/2 | ts | Salt |
INSTRUCTIONS
Melt shortening and chocolate over very low heat, stirring constantly. Cool. Beat eggs until light; stir in sugar, then chocolate mixture and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients, mixing well. Add nuts. Bake in greased 9x12 pan at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. Makes about 2 dozen. These have consistency similar to cake. MRS JOHN P.
