INSTRUCTIONS
FROSTING
COOKIES: Cream butter, brown sugar, and sugar well. Add unbeaten egg yolk
and vanilla. Blend in 2 cups flour. Chill dough for 3 hours. Shape dough
into balls and place on greased baking sheets. Flatten with sugar dipped
glass. Bake at 350 degrees 7 to 9 minutes. Makes 5 to 6 dozen. Frost. Place
half a walnut on each cookie, if desired.
FROSTING: Brown butter in saucepan and remove from heat. Add 2 1/2 cups
powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Gradually add 3 or 4 tablespoons of
milk for spreading consistency.
