We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The man who carries on an act of impurity is not simply breaking a human code, nor even sinning against the God who at some time in the past gave him the gift of the Spirit. He is sinning against the God who is present at that moment, against One who continually gives the Spirit. The impure act is an act of despite against God’s good gift at the very moment it is being proffered… This sin is seen in its true light only when it is seen as a preference for impurity rather than a Spirit who is holy.

Not all leaders think about wisdom as a character trait that needs to be carefully cultivated. Of course, we would quickly agree that wisdom is more valuable than money or status. At least we would agree with that statement intellectually. But how many of us pursue wisdom with the same vigor with which we pursue wealth? How many of us cultivate wisdom with the same passion we use to cultivate our stock portfolio? Somehow we believe that wisdom just comes by itself. Certainly, wisdom can and often is the end result of long experience in the leader’s field of expertise. But the leader who gains wisdom by making poor decisions and learning from them is much farther behind than the leader who seeks the right kind of wisdom from the start.

CARAMEL FROSTING
This recipe comes from Better Homes and Gardens. It is the one listed in
the 1930's cookbook with the icing I posted earlier.
Frosting: Combine the sugar, milk and butter; boil steadily until the
mixture forms a thread when a little is dipped up with a spoon. Add the
vanilla(or maple); beat until creamy; spread on the cake while it is still
warm.
Cream shortning and sugar. Mix and sift the cake flour, baking powder and
salt; add to the first mixture alternately with the milk. Stir the
vanilla(or maple as the case may be) and fold in the egg whites. Transfer
to an oiled cake pan; and bake in a mederately hot oven(about 375) for 35
minutes. Cover with Caramel frosting.
