INGREDIENTS
2/3 | c | Flour |
1/2 | t | Salt |
1/2 | t | Baking soda |
1/4 | t | Cinnamon |
1/4 | t | Nutmeg |
1/2 | c | Sugar |
1/2 | c | Light brown sugar, packed |
1/2 | c | Butter or margarine |

1 | Egg | |
1/2 | t | Vanilla extract |
1 1/2 | c | Quick-cooking oats |
1/4 | c | Chopped walnuts |
INSTRUCTIONS
In large bowl mix flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add sugars, butter, egg and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Stir in oats and walnuts. Shape in two 1-1/2 inch diameter rolls. Wrap in waxed paper; chill thoroughly at least 3 hours. Slice 1/4 inch thick. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove to racks to cool. NOTES : These are crisp, a little lacy and subtly spiced!
