God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
Some of you seek for faith much in the same way as you would dig for a well. You turn the eye inward upon yourself and search admidst the depths of your polluted heart to find if faith is there; you search admid all your feelings at sermons and sacraments to see if faith is there; and still you find nothing but sin and disappointment… Look full in the face of Jesus… Drink in His Word… Faith comes by hearing the voice of Jesus.

Preheat oven to 240 C/450 F. Put everything in blender along with two
tablespoons only of the melted butter. Process until smooth.
Use remaining butter to liberally grease popover or muffin pans and place
in hot oven for 2 or 3 minutes. Once hot, fill cups about two-thirds with
batter and return to oven for 30 minutes. Do not open oven door or popovers
may fall. Reduce heat to 180 C/350 F and bake another 5 to 15 minutes,
depending on how soft or crusty you like them. Serve right away. Makes 8 to
12 popovers, depending on size of pan.
