Cheese Turnovers

INGREDIENTS

2 (7.5 oz.) cans refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
2 oz Edam cheese, cut into 20 pieces
Oil for deep frying
Powdered sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

Separate dough into 20 biscuits.  Press or roll out each to a 3 inch
circle.  Place 1 piece of cheese on each circle.  Fold dough in half
over cheese, completely covering cheese; pinch edges firmly to seal.
(At this point,turnovers can be covered and refrigerated for up to 2
hours.)
In deep fryer or heavy saucepan, heat 2 to 3 inches of oil to 350°F.
Fry turnovers until golden brown, about 1 minute on each side.  Drain
on paper towels.  Dust with powedered sugar.  Serve warm.  Yield: 20
