1998 Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, and pour mixture into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Let cool; cover and freeze overnight. Remove from freezer; scrape entire mixture with the tines of a fork until fluffy. Divide berries among 8 dessert dishes; top each with 1 cup granita. Yield: 8 servings (serving size: 1 cup granita and 3 tablespoons berries). Serving Ideas : Serve immediately. NOTES : A granita is a coarse-textured sorbet reminiscent of what Americans call Italian ice. Traditionally made with coffee or fresh lemon juice, this version is made with Chianti.
