INSTRUCTIONS
TO MAKE DUMPLINGS
Put chicken into a large pot. Add salt & pepper. Pour in enough water
to just cover the chicken. Cover pot, turn stove on high, and cook
until chicken is falling off the bones. While chicken is cooking, you
can make the drop dumplings (see recipe below).
To make dumplings:
In a mixing bowl, add baking powder, salt & pepper to flour. Then,
using a pastry blender, cut in shortening until mixture looks like
cornmeal. Add milk & stir only enough to mix well. Take dumpling
mixture and drop by tablespoons into the stewed chicken in boiling
broth.
Cook dumplings for 10 minutes with pot covered and 10 minutes
uncovered. Place all into serving dish. Serve & enjoy!
