INGREDIENTS

3 lb Chicken
1/2 c Onion, chopped
1/4 c Shortening
1/2 ts Black pepper, ground
2 ts Salt
1 c Hot water
3 ts Paprika
3/4 c Sour cream

INSTRUCTIONS

Cut chicken into serving size pieces and set aside. Saute onions in
shortening 3 minutes or until limp and transparent. Rub black pepper
and salt on the chicken, add to onion and shortening and brown, over
moderate heat, on all sides. Add water, cover and simmer 30 to 40
minutes or until chicken is tender. Stir in paprika 10 minutes before
cooking time is up. Remove chicken to a serving dish. Add sour cream
to pan drippings. Mix well and heat thoroughly, but DO NOT BOIL. Pour
over chicken. Serve with noodles.
