God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
[The preacher’s] aim…will be to stand under Scripture, not over it, and to allow it, so to speak, to talk through him, delivering what is not so much his message as its. In our preaching, that is what should always be happening. In his obituary of the great German conductor, Otto Klemperer, Neville Cardus spoke of the way in which Klemperer “set the music in motion,” maintaining throughout a deliberately anonymous, self-effacing style in order that the musical notes might articulate themselves in their own integrity through him. So it must be in preaching; Scripture itself must do all the talking, and the preacher’s task is simply to “set the Bible in motion.”

INSTRUCTIONS
While making up a batch of latkes <yum1> for my potato loving husband, I
decided to see what the combo of a few cascabel and pasilla peppers would
do for the mix... voila! A decided treat. Here's what we had:
Mix all the ingredients together except for the cheese, make patties and
fry them in a vegetable shortening or peanut oil. brown them up nicely, and
just before serving, cover in cheese and nuke for a couple of seconds to
melt the cheese. It is important to make these nice and thin, otherwise you
get uncooked potato in the middle, quite a bummer...<S> it is possible to
half fry off a bunch and then finish them later, allowing you to
refrigerate a bunch for those big breakfasts on Sunday after the late night
chile eating contests...<G>
