INSTRUCTIONS
TOPPING
Recipe by: Sue Klapper Preparation Time: 0:40 In a bowl, combine
dates and water; set aside to cool (Do not drain). In a mixing bowl,
cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, flour, baking soda and salt.
Mix well. Add dates. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 baking
pan. Combine the topping ingredients; sprinkle over batter. Bake at
350 for 40 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center
comes out clean.
