INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 325°. Lightly grease a 9" x 13" pan.
In a large bowl, cream the 1 cup butter & the brown sugar together with an
electric mixer. Add the eggs; beat until light. Blend in the vanilla. In
another bowl, stir together the flour & baking soda. Beat into the butter
mixture. Stir in the rolled oats. Spread 3/4 of the flour/oat mixture into
the prepared pan evenly.
In a small heavy saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed
milk & the remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Stir over low heat until the
chocolate is melted. Pour the chocolate mixture evenlyh over the oat
mixture in the pan. Dot with the remaining oat mixture.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are browned and the center feels
firm.
Cool in the pan on a wire rack. When cool, cut into bars.
