Choko And Ham in a Gruyere Sauce

INGREDIENTS

3 Chokoes; peeled
6 Thin slices ham
1 tb Butter
1 tb Plain flour
1 1/2 c Milk
1 c Grated gruyere cheese
Salt and pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut chokoes into quarters and cut out seeds. Cook by steaming or
in the microwave until just tender. Cut each ham slice in half and
wrap a piece of ham around a piece of choko. Place the choko pieces
in a single layer in a gratin dish.
2. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the flour and stir with a
whisk. Cook for 1 minute. Add milk gradually, continually stirring,
until mixture is smooth. Cook sauce until it has thickened. Add 2/3
cup gruyere and stir through until melted. Season to taste with salt
and pepper.
3. Pre-heat oven to 200deg.C. Pour sauce over the chokoes and sprinkle
remaining cheese on top. Bake in oven until golden on top.
