Christmas Sugar Cookies

INGREDIENTS

2 c Sugar
1 c Shortening
2 lg Eggs
1 c Buttermilk
1/2 ts Vanilla
4 c Flour
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Baking soda
2 ts Baking powder

INSTRUCTIONS

Hope my Mother - in - law doesn't mind :-) This is my MIL's recipe for
Christmas sugar cookies - obviously you can use any shape you want :-) We
usually make these in large batches a month or so before Christmas and
freeze them until they are needed for whatever event we are attending that
requires us to bring cookies

Cream 2 cups sugar and 1 cup shortening together. Add 2 large eggs, 1 cup
buttermilk and 1/2 tsp. vanilla and beat well. In a separate bowl combine
remaining ingredients. Add to shortening mixture.
Roll out gently on floured surface. Use floured cookie cutters. Bake 400
degrees Farenheit for about 10 minutes or until done.
