Ultimately, men learn masculinity from God. God is not male. He does not have a body. But God is pure, unadulterated masculinity. Ultimately, He alone is the Christian father’s role model. His masculinity expresses itself as the willingness to initiate…the willingness to initiate is the heart and soul of God’s masculinity. God serves us by initiating. He initiated creation. He initiated our redemption. He came to us in the incarnation. We didn’t go to Him. This willingness is most likely what God means when He refers to Himself with masculine pronouns. Although God does not have a male body, He is the ultimate initiator. He is the ultimate servant-leader. In this sense, God the Father is absolute masculinity.

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2	c	Sugar
3/4	c	Hershey's Cocoa
1	ds	Salt
1	c	Hot water
2	ts	Vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS

In medium saucepan, stir together sugar, cocoa and salt. Gradually add
water, stirring to keep mixture smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring
constantly, until mixture boils; boil and stir 3 minutes. Remove from heat;
stir in vanilla. Pour into heatproof container. Cool to room temperature.
Cover; refrigerate. Use as topping for ice cream and desserts or for
chocolate-flavored drinks. About 2 cups syrup.
Variations:
Hot Cocoa: Add 1 to 2 tablespoons Cocoa Syrup to mug of hot milk; stir
until blended.
Cocoa Syrup Drink: Add 1 to 2 tablespoons Cocoa Syrup to tall glass of cold
milk; stir until blended.

Perhaps his total number of devoted followers at the end of His earthly ministry numbered little more than the five hundred brethren to whom Jesus appeared after the resurrection (I Cor. 15:6), and only about 120 tarried in Jerusalem to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:15). Though this number is not small considering that His active ministry extended only over a period of three years, yet if at this point one were to measure the effectiveness of his evangelism by the number of his converts, Jesus doubtless would not be considered among the most productive mass evangelists of the church.
