INSTRUCTIONS
Two days before the shower, sift together the first five ingredients.
Cream sugar and shortening, and beat in eggs until light and fluffy.
Add milk alternately with the flour mixture. Bake in two greased 9"
layer pans at 357° for 25-30 minutes. Let cool. Wrap in plastic and
leave sitting our on a counter. On the day of the shower, cut into
square pieces and serve with dollop of whipped cream. Yield: 1 cake
