Notes: Good with tortilla chips!
In a pint canning jar, layer 3 different kinds of beans--kidney, pinto,
white, any kind you like. Decorate any way you like.
Then attach a tag or glue a label on with the following instructions:
Cowboy Three Bean Chili
Ingredients: Prepared bean mixture, soaked over night. 1 clove garlic;
crushed, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 1 large can chopped tomatoes, 2
teaspoons dried oregano, 1 to 3 teaspoons chili powder, 1 tablespoon
vinegar, 1 cube vegetable stock, salt to taste. Cook beans, covered with
water, until tender. Using a heavy pan, lightly fry the garlic in the oil
over a low heat. Add the tomatoes, cooked beans, oregano, chili powder,
vinegar & stock cube; bring to a boil. Continue to season to taste. Reduce
the heat, cover & simmer gently for about an hour, stirring occasionally.
Add water as necessary.
