1 pk (4-oz) Baker's German's sweet chocolate
5 tb Butter or margarine
1 pk (3-oz) cream cheese; at room temperature
1/4 c Sugar
3 Eggs
1 tb Flour
1/2 ts Vanilla
3/4 c Sugar
1/2 ts Baking powder
1/4 ts Salt
1/2 c Flour
1/2 c Coarsely chopped nuts
1 ts Vanilla

Melt chocolate with 3 tablespoons of the butter over very low heat,
stirring constantly until smooth. Cool. Cream reamining 2 tablespoons
butter with the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar,
creaming until light and fluffy. Blend in 1 of the eggs, 1 tablespoon of
flour and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
Beat remaining 2 eggs until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in 3/4 cup
sugar and continue beating until thickened. Stir in baking powder, salt,
and 1/2 cup flour. Blend in chocolate. Stir in nuts and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Spread half of the chocolate batter in a greased 8- or 9-inch square pan.
Spread cheese mixture over the top. Drop remaining chocolate batter by
tablespoonfuls over top. Swirl through batters with a spatula to marble.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool in pan. Cut into squares or
bars. Makes 16 to 20.
