1. Pour milk and syrups into 12-ounce glass; stir well. Fill glass with ice
and add sparkling water. Stir again. Garnish with orange slice and float
half-and-half on top. Variation: Substitute 2 tablespoons of any flavored
syrup for the Mandarin orange and vanilla syrups. To make a float, omit the
milk and half-and-half and add a scoop of vanilla or fruit-flavored ice
cream or sherbet. Note: Flavored syrups are available at coffee bars and
