Ashley received a phone call from the producer of Good Morning America Tuesday evening, saying he was embarrassed to say that their segment has been delayed once again. He had finished the segment and had a viewing within the office and they wanted to lengthen the piece. So that is good news! He said they may wait until the 4th of July, but would let Ashley know for sure. We are sorry for all the confusion. Ashley said the producer promises this is not a shameless plot to get all of her friends and family to tune into GMA everyday. Yes, I had my VCR set like many of you, but this just means we will get to see a longer segment! Ashley and Sami Grace are especially looking forward to seeing "Husband" and Daddy" Sam and his surroundings in Iraq when this show airs. Put fabric on walls by using liquid starch. It's easily removed and it doesn't damage the walls. Just allow time to wash the walls when it's time to move out. The fabric can be reused as well. You can do just a panel for decoration or do a whole wall as if it was wallpaper. Visit

JaninneEliminating Pasta Bugs ~ I buy fresh garlic that comes with three or four heads tightly wrapped in a mesh bag. Keep the last head of garlic in the mesh bag and then put it in your dry pasta container or rice container. Grandma said garlic is the most effective way to remove pasta or rice bugs. Try it for yourself. It works in my pantry. E.Cold Storage ~ I got tired of running to the composter a couple of times per day to get rid of the kitchen waste. So I started to put coffee grounds, peelings, egg shells, etc. in a plastic bag in the freezer. Once the bag is full, I take it to the composter. No more smelly kitchen and the freezing helps the peelings, etc. to start breaking down quicker once they are in the composter. So, all the sooner, I have some organic fertilizer to feed to my plants. Liz M.Kitchen Mini-Trashcan at Hand ~ I always had my trashcan under or near my sink. In my new
house, that wasn't possible. To avoid drips when taking trash (coffee grounds, cabbage leaves, etc.) from the sink to the trashcan, I put a decorated flowerpot and saucer next to the sink. I use recycled plastic bags in the pot and place my small trash there throughout the day. It's emptied as necessary. This method keeps my hardwood floor and braided rug from being soiled and it also saves me steps. Sharon in Virginia
Water Park ~ Here's something that my husband and I are planning to do sometime this summer. We plan on inviting all the children of our families, friends, and neighborhood to a water party. We will be purchasing an inexpensive inflatable pool and will invite all the kids to bring their water guns, put on their swimsuits, and come prepared to have fun in the sun. Then we will be having a fix-your-own-ice cream-sundae bar set up in the shade. When the kids get all sticky, they can just jump back in the pool or we can hose them down. The adults will enjoy this as well. Vivian G.Perfect Patio Furniture ~ I tried power washing my white outdoor furniture that had black mold marks on it from the winter. That did a decent job, but it wasn't entirely clean. I then decided to try Tilex. It was extremely quick and effortless and I just hosed it off. You can bet I'll do this every year. My patio furniture looks brand new. Mary AnnLandscaping for Less ~ Purchasing shrubs is expensive. Try a cutting from your favorites and grow for pennies. For years I have started shrubs from cuttings including junipers, hydrangea, pine trees, magnolia trees, viburnum, spirea, miniature lilac and more. Our daughter's new house is landscaped almost entirely of plants I started. I bought a few plants before I knew how simple it was to propagate from cuttings. Dozens have been propagated from my original plants But most have been started from cuttings of friends and others (of course always ask the owner). Its very easy. Use peat moss and mix it with a small amount of good soil. Pull all but a few top leaves off the stem, sometimes I make a diagonal slice at the bottom of the small branch. Insert the shrub stem or branch in a quart or larger container of peat and dirt. Water frequently (make sure drainage is good) Transplant when the plant has obviously taken root and has grown at least double. Some plants don't make it but keep trying, most will survive, have fun. Ginny from OhioKid-Safe Weed Killer ~ Instead of buying expensive weed killer, use ordinary white vinegar. Put vinegar in a spray bottle and spray away. Weeds will die within 3 to 5 days. It is safer than commercial weed killer for pets and children. Kathleen H.
Dog Bed ~ I recently acquired a two-inch thick piece of foam, cut to accommodate the size of my dog. I took an old vinyl tablecloth and made a "pillowcase" to fit the piece of foam and sewed the ends together. I placed my dog's eighty-nine cent rug on top of her new "pillow." Now, if my dog has an accident, it's easy enough to wash off her "pillowcase," and it'sinexpensive to replace her rug. ReginaA GOOD HOUSEKEEPING TIP

We all look forward to spending time together, doing new things, or visiting our favorite animals at the zoo. Family activities range in price from free to very expensive, but even if your finances are tight (whose aren't?), it's easy to economize. Try these budget-conscious hints:Be creative in coming up with free activities. Spend the day at a park. Ride bikes along a trail. Explore a new area of your town. Go to the county fair or farmer's market.Many events are cheaper at certain times of the day or certain days of the week. Matinee movies are a prime example; either use the money you've saved for another activity or use it to
treat yourselves to popcorn!Be on the lookout for coupons in the newspaper, online, or on flyers. If a grocery store is sponsoring an event, they may offer a price reduction (ask at the service desk). Some coupons offer half-price or two-for-one admission. If you frequently visit a zoo or museum, consider purchasing a family season pass. The one-time cost will probably be less than the cost of multiple admissions.Sometimes a seemingly steep ticket price isn't so bad when you calculate the hours of fun it provides. Tickets for a day at the zoo might cost $25 for your whole family, but if you spend all day, that's less than $1 per hour per person. Skip the concession stand! Make sure you all eat before you leave. Many times you can bring a cooler into an amusement park or at least stick a few granola bars or some dried fruit in your purse. If you spend all day, you'll probably have to spring for a meal at some time, but by bringing some of your own food, you'll minimize the overpriced food you have to buy.Avoid the gift shop! Remember the trip with photos or free maps and fliers. If the kids absolutely insist, give them an amount of money that your budget allows, or make them use their own money to purchase any souvenirs. They'll be much pickier when it's their own money they are spending!Be prepared. After a spilled soda necessitated the purchase of an overpriced logo T-shirt and pair of shorts for her two-year old, Becky decided to have a complete change of clothes for every child in her van. Film, over-the-counter pain relievers, and personal care items can be extremely expensive at tourist attractions. Carefully consider everything you might need

Although I do believe burn-out is what we are each trying to escape or avoid or come out of (whichever may be the case in any given year). Even when funds are low, Chuck insists that we need this week of refreshment. Who am I to argue? So days ahead, we begin pulling out buried goggles, boogie boards, beach towels, and swimsuits.
Every year, my dear husband reminds me to purchase 50+ sun screen even though he wears a long-sleeve shirt and a baseball cap with a large bandana attached to the back into the ocean. He looks more like he's part of a caravan traveling by camel-back through the hot, dry desert than merely jumping into the waves for some afternoon fun. Generally speaking, when my beach beauty girls see him sauntering down the sand toward the ocean in his more than unusual garb, they look the other way or bury their heads in a magazine. I simply smile and say, "Isn't he cute? Gotta love him!" They sigh and apply more sun lotion to their already brown, baked bodies. Perhaps someday we girls will see the wisdom of the man in our lives with his hanky laden cap bobbing up and down in the water. At least we know how to locate him.
Indeed, for our family, the "beach week" is a time to kick back, be free, and experience individual and family delights, whether it's reading a good book, playing a round of golf, shopping at Bare Foot Landing, or playing Marco Polo in the pool. It is a time to refresh, relax, reflect, and regroup. But with the freedom comes a sense of foreboding that Satan is lurking behind some dark corner ready to snatch us by the throat and draw us in to some hidden temptation.That is exactly why each year we covenant together to request the honor of Jesus' presence at our vacation. Not that He isn't there with us already through the Spirit that lives within; He most definitely is there, but we find it helpful to verbally ask Him to make us AWARE of His presence. It is far too easy to give in to subtle and not-so-subtle pressures to conform to society's agenda when sunbathing on the beach or viewing billboards along the road. *B eware of Satan's tactics. Don't let your guard down just because it's time to relax. Remember Satan never goes on vacation.
*E at in moderation. Resist the urge to woof down every delicacy in sight It only brings regret later as you try to work off accumulated pounds.
*A sk Jesus to shield your eyes, protect your thoughts, guard your heart, and guide your steps. The Psalmist, a man speaking from experience, once said, "I will set no worthless thing before my eyes." Wise advice.
*C ommit your way unto the Lord. Ask Him to open doors of witness for you. Pass out tracts at each gas station. Leave one with a tip at restaurants. Listen to people in the elevators to discover spiritual hunger. If you ask for an open door, God will provide one. Watch for the door.
*H elp people in need along the way as God prompts you to do so. Be polite and courteous to others in the parking lot. Take turns at the pool shower. Little deeds of kindness can lead to a greater witness. Remember, we never take a vacation from the fruits of the Spirit.
This vacation, whether you're headed to the beach, the mountains, or around the corner for a cool soda, invite Jesus to come along. You'll have the time of your life!

I take a small, unlined notebook, a glue stick, a couple pens, and markers with me when I travel. Pick a notebook that is a little bigger than a postcard. Save any little bits of paper, such as receipts with store names, boarding passes, ticket stubs, restaurant sugar packets, etc. Every night, glue in your bits, and in a couple sentences, describe the highlights of the day. Also, glue in postcards and leave room for photos to be added when you get home. I have done this on several trips, both domestically and internationally, and looking back through the books, I'm reminded of many situations that surely would have slipped away without those memories!FORSAKEN ROOTS

Did you know that 52 of the 55 signers of The Declaration of Independence were orthodox, deeply committed Christians? The other three all believed in the Bible as the divine truth, the God of scripture, and His personal intervention.
It is the same congress that formed the American Bible Society. Immediately after creating the Declaration of Independence, the Continental Congress voted to purchase and import 20,000 copies of scripture for the people of this nation.
Patrick Henry, who is called the firebrand of the American Revolution, is still remembered for his words, "Give me liberty or give me death." But in current textbooks the context of these words is deleted. Here is what he said: "An appeal to arms and the God of hosts is all that is left us. But we shall not fight our battle alone. There is a just God that presides over the destinies of nations. The battle sir, is not of the strong alone. Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it almighty God. I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death."
These sentences have been erased from our textbooks.
Was Patrick Henry a Christian? The following year, 1776, he wrote this. "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here."
Consider these words that Thomas Jefferson wrote on the front of his well- worn Bible: "I am a Christian, that is to say a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus. I have little doubt that our whole country will soon be rallied to the unity of our Creator and, I hope, to the pure doctrine of Jesus also."
Consider these words from George Washington, the Father of our Nation, in his farewell speech on September 19, 1796: "It is impossible to govern the world without God and the Bible. Of all the dispositions and habits that lead to political prosperity, our religion and morality are the indispensable supporters. Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that our national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle."
Was George Washington a Christian? Consider these words from his personal prayer book: "Oh, eternal and everlasting God, direct my thoughts, words and work. Wash away my sins in the immaculate blood of the lamb and purge my heart by the Holy Spirit. Daily, frame me more and more in the likeness of thy son, Jesus Christ, that living in thy fear, and dying in thy favor, I may in thy appointed time obtain the resurrection of the justified unto eternal life. Bless, O Lord, the whole race of mankind and let the world be filled with the knowledge of thy son, Jesus Christ."
Consider these words by John Adams, our second president, who also served as chairman of the American Bible Society: In an address to military leaders he said, "We have no government armed with the power capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and true religion. Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." How about our first Court Justice, John Jay?
He stated that when we select our national leaders, if we are to preserve our Nation, we must select Christians. "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." John Quincy Adams, son of John Adams, was the sixth U.S. President.
He was also the chairman of the American Bible Society, which he considered his highest and most important role. On July 4, 1821, President Adams said, "The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity."
Calvin Coolidge, our 30th President of the United States reaffirmed this truth when he wrote, "The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country."
In 1782, the United States Congress voted this resolution: "The congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools."
William Holmes McGuffey is the author of the McGuffey Reader, which was used for over 100 years in our public schools with over 125 million copies sold until it was stopped in 1963. President Lincoln called him the "Schoolmaster of the Nation."
Listen to these words of Mr. McGuffey: "The Christian religion is the religion of our country. From it are derived our notions on character of God, on the great moral Governor of the universe. On its doctrines are founded the peculiarities of our free institutions. From no source has the author drawn more conspicuously than from the sacred Scriptures. From all these extracts from the Bible I make no apology."
Of the first 108 universities founded in America, 106 were distinctly Christian, including the first. Harvard University, chartered in 1636. In the original Harvard Student Handbook rule number 1 was that students seeking entrance must know Latin and Greek so that they could study the scriptures:
"Let every student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies is, to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life, John 17:3; and therefore to lay Jesus Christ as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning. And seeing the Lord only giveth wisdom, let everyone seriously set himself by prayer in secret to seek it of him (Proverbs 2:3)."
For over 100 years, more than 50% of all Harvard graduates were pastors!
It is clear from history that the Bible and the Christian faith, were foundational in our educational and judicial system. However in 1947, there was a radical change of direction in the Supreme Court.

We beg Thy blessings upon us and our parents and our teachers and our country. Amen."
In 1963, the Supreme Court ruled that Bible reading was outlawed as unconstitutional in the public school system. The court offered this justification: "If portions of the New Testament were read without explanation, they could and have been psychologically harmful to children."
Bible reading was now unconstitutional , though the Bible was quoted 94 percent of the time by those who wrote our constitution and shaped our Nation and its system of education and justice and government.
In 1965, the Courts denied as unconstitutional the rights of a student in the public school cafeteria to bow his head and pray audibly for his food. In 1980, Stone vs. Graham outlawed the Ten Commandments in our public schools.
The Supreme Court said this: "If the posted copies of the Ten Commandments were to have any effect at all, it would be to induce school children to read them. And if they read them, meditated upon them, and perhaps venerated and observed them, this is not a permissible objective." Is it not a permissible objective to allow our children to follow the moral principles of the Ten Commandments?
James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution of the United States, said this: "We have staked the whole future of our new nation, not upon the power of government; far from it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments."
Today we are asking God to bless America. But how can He bless a Nation that has departed so far from Him?
Most of what you read in this article has been erased from our textbooks. Revisionists have rewritten history to remove the truth about our country's Christian roots. NAIL IN THE FENCE

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than drive those nails into the fence.
Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. " A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

Pressure Treated Wood ~ I am writing to caution about using deck wood or any other wood not specifically designed for a children's play area. I had seen a show such as Dateline once where they have found that one or more of the chemicals used to treat outside wood, can cause children to become sick when they come into contact with it by playing on it. Ashley received a phone call from the producer of Good Morning America Tuesday evening, saying he was embarrassed to say that their segment has been delayed once again. He had finished the segment and had a viewing within the office and they wanted to lengthen the piece. So that is good news! He said they may wait until the 4th of July, but would let Ashley know for sure. We are sorry for all the confusion. Ashley said the producer promises this is not a shameless plot to get all of her friends and family to tune into GMA everyday. Yes, I had my VCR set like many of you, but this just means we will get to see a longer segment! Ashley and Sami Grace are especially looking forward to seeing "Husband" and Daddy" Sam and his surroundings in Iraq when this show airs. Please pray for the Donnelly family as well as all the families of our troops.

house, that wasn't possible. To avoid drips when taking trash (coffee grounds, cabbage leaves, etc.) from the sink to the trashcan, I put a decorated flowerpot and saucer next to the sink. I use recycled plastic bags in the pot and place my small trash there throughout the day. It's emptied as necessary. Dog Bed ~ I recently acquired a two-inch thick piece of foam, cut to accommodate the size of my dog. I took an old vinyl tablecloth and made a "pillowcase" to fit the piece of foam and sewed the ends together. I placed my dog's eighty-nine cent rug on top of her new "pillow." Every year, my dear husband reminds me to purchase 50+ sun screen even though he wears a long-sleeve shirt and a baseball cap with a large bandana attached to the back into the ocean. He looks more like he's part of a caravan traveling by camel-back through the hot, dry desert than merely jumping into the waves for some afternoon fun. Generally speaking, when my beach beauty girls see him sauntering down the sand toward the ocean in his more than unusual garb, they look the other way or bury their heads in a magazine. I simply smile and say, "Isn't he cute? Gotta love him!" They sigh and apply more sun lotion to their already brown, baked bodies. Perhaps someday we girls will see the wisdom of the man in our lives with his hanky laden cap bobbing up and down in the water. At least we know how to locate him.
Indeed, for our family, the "beach week" is a time to kick back, be free, and experience individual and family delights, whether it's reading a good book, playing a round of golf, shopping at Bare Foot Landing, or playing Marco Polo in the pool. It is a time to refresh, relax, reflect, and regroup. But with the freedom comes a sense of foreboding that Satan is lurking behind some dark corner ready to snatch us by the throat and draw us in to some hidden temptation.
*B eware of Satan's tactics. Don't let your guard down just because it's time to relax. Remember Satan never goes on vacation.
*E at in moderation. Resist the urge to woof down every delicacy in sight It only brings regret later as you try to work off accumulated pounds.
*A sk Jesus to shield your eyes, protect your thoughts, guard your heart, and guide your steps. The Psalmist, a man speaking from experience, once said, "I will set no worthless thing before my eyes." Wise advice.
*C ommit your way unto the Lord. Ask Him to open doors of witness for you. Pass out tracts at each gas station. Leave one with a tip at restaurants. Listen to people in the elevators to discover spiritual hunger. If you ask for an open door, God will provide one. Watch for the door.
*H elp people in need along the way as God prompts you to do so. Be polite and courteous to others in the parking lot. Take turns at the pool shower. Little deeds of kindness can lead to a greater witness. Remember, we never take a vacation from the fruits of the Spirit.
This vacation, whether you're headed to the beach, the mountains, or around the corner for a cool soda, invite Jesus to come along. You'll have the time of your life!

TRAVEL MEMORIES
I take a small, unlined notebook, a glue stick, a couple pens, and markers with me when I travel. Pick a notebook that is a little bigger than a postcard. Save any little bits of paper, such as receipts with store names, boarding passes, ticket stubs, restaurant sugar packets, etc. Every night, glue in your bits, and in a couple sentences, describe the highlights of the day. Also, glue in postcards and leave room for photos to be added when you get home. I have done this on several trips, both domestically and internationally, and looking back through the books, I'm reminded of many situations that surely would have slipped away without those memories!

Did you know that 52 of the 55 signers of The Declaration of Independence were orthodox, deeply committed Christians? The other three all believed in the Bible as the divine truth, the God of scripture, and His personal intervention.
It is the same congress that formed the American Bible Society. Immediately after creating the Declaration of Independence, the Continental Congress voted to purchase and import 20,000 copies of scripture for the people of this nation.
Patrick Henry, who is called the firebrand of the American Revolution, is still remembered for his words, "Give me liberty or give me death." But in current textbooks the context of these words is deleted. Here is what he said: "An appeal to arms and the God of hosts is all that is left us. But we shall not fight our battle alone. There is a just God that presides over the destinies of nations. The battle sir, is not of the strong alone. Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it almighty God. I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death."
These sentences have been erased from our textbooks.
Was Patrick Henry a Christian? The following year, 1776, he wrote this. "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here."
Consider these words that Thomas Jefferson wrote on the front of his well- worn Bible: "I am a Christian, that is to say a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus. I have little doubt that our whole country will soon be rallied to the unity of our Creator and, I hope, to the pure doctrine of Jesus also."
Consider these words from George Washington, the Father of our Nation, in his farewell speech on September 19, 1796: "It is impossible to govern the world without God and the Bible. Of all the dispositions and habits that lead to political prosperity, our religion and morality are the indispensable supporters. Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that our national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle."
Was George Washington a Christian? Consider these words from his personal prayer book: "Oh, eternal and everlasting God, direct my thoughts, words and work. Wash away my sins in the immaculate blood of the lamb and purge my heart by the Holy Spirit. Daily, frame me more and more in the likeness of thy son, Jesus Christ, that living in thy fear, and dying in thy favor, I may in thy appointed time obtain the resurrection of the justified unto eternal life. Bless, O Lord, the whole race of mankind and let the world be filled with the knowledge of thy son, Jesus Christ."
Consider these words by John Adams, our second president, who also served as chairman of the American Bible Society: In an address to military leaders he said, "We have no government armed with the power capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and true religion. Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." How about our first Court Justice, John Jay?
He stated that when we select our national leaders, if we are to preserve our Nation, we must select Christians. "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." John Quincy Adams, son of John Adams, was the sixth U.S. President.
He was also the chairman of the American Bible Society, which he considered his highest and most important role. On July 4, 1821, President Adams said, "The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity."
Calvin Coolidge, our 30th President of the United States reaffirmed this truth when he wrote, "The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country."
In 1782, the United States Congress voted this resolution: "The congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools."
William Holmes McGuffey is the author of the McGuffey Reader, which was used for over 100 years in our public schools with over 125 million copies sold until it was stopped in 1963. President Lincoln called him the "Schoolmaster of the Nation."
Listen to these words of Mr. McGuffey: "The Christian religion is the religion of our country. From it are derived our notions on character of God, on the great moral Governor of the universe. On its doctrines are founded the peculiarities of our free institutions. From no source has the author drawn more conspicuously than from the sacred Scriptures. From all these extracts from the Bible I make no apology."
Of the first 108 universities founded in America, 106 were distinctly Christian, including the first. Harvard University, chartered in 1636. In the original Harvard Student Handbook rule number 1 was that students seeking entrance must know Latin and Greek so that they could study the scriptures:
"Let every student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies is, to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life, John 17:3; and therefore to lay Jesus Christ as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning. And seeing the Lord only giveth wisdom, let everyone seriously set himself by prayer in secret to seek it of him (Proverbs 2:3)."
For over 100 years, more than 50% of all Harvard graduates were pastors!
It is clear from history that the Bible and the Christian faith, were foundational in our educational and judicial system. However in 1947, there was a radical change of direction in the Supreme Court.

We beg Thy blessings upon us and our parents and our teachers and our country. Amen."
In 1963, the Supreme Court ruled that Bible reading was outlawed as unconstitutional in the public school system. The court offered this justification: "If portions of the New Testament were read without explanation, they could and have been psychologically harmful to children."
Bible reading was now unconstitutional , though the Bible was quoted 94 percent of the time by those who wrote our constitution and shaped our Nation and its system of education and justice and government.
In 1965, the Courts denied as unconstitutional the rights of a student in the public school cafeteria to bow his head and pray audibly for his food. In 1980, Stone vs. Graham outlawed the Ten Commandments in our public schools.
The Supreme Court said this: "If the posted copies of the Ten Commandments were to have any effect at all, it would be to induce school children to read them. And if they read them, meditated upon them, and perhaps venerated and observed them, this is not a permissible objective." Is it not a permissible objective to allow our children to follow the moral principles of the Ten Commandments?
James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution of the United States, said this: "We have staked the whole future of our new nation, not upon the power of government; far from it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments."
Today we are asking God to bless America. But how can He bless a Nation that has departed so far from Him?
Most of what you read in this article has been erased from our textbooks. Revisionists have rewritten history to remove the truth about our country's Christian roots. NAIL IN THE FENCE

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than drive those nails into the fence.
Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. " A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.
