You don't mention denomination (and I DO NOT want to go there) but I don't think that not liking these books mean that christian fiction is not liked (at least not in all cases--some denoms are against almost all (maybe all) fiction as it is viewed as fantasy--at least that was the way it was explained to me.)
I know some who are *anti* these books because of the eschotology--it is not what they believe and they are concerned about the masses reading them and getting what they think is bad teaching (by not reading them as fiction but as non-fiction.)
I myself do not share this eschotology but I liked reading a few of the books to get an idea of that perticular doctrine--much easier than doing a Bible study = )I was wondering if anyone has read a newer book by B. Lewis. I appologize, I can't recall the name, it was in the CBD catalog I just and the description said it was a collection of vignettes taken from the characters in previous books. I was wondering if there were any opinions about it.

I was surprised, actually, when I mentioned the Left Behind series to someone
at my husband's class reunion who was a pastor (demonination not mentioned
here) and he went beserk...saying those way crossed the line and the guy was
so wrong to write them and HE Would never read them and told his congregation
not to read them, etc., etc.....and this is a denomination I used to be a
member of 20 yeras ago...a ver mainstream, conservative demonination! (I'm
even more conservative now, being assembly of god)...but it stunned me,
his attitude...So, evidently, there are groups out there who do NOT support christian
fiction or this type of book!Cheryl Wolverton
