A bizarre answer to prayer!

Dear Hope Chest friends,

On Monday, I sent out a prayer request for my sister Barb's impending brain surgery for a tumor behind her eye socket. That very afternoon, while she was trying to confirm the surgery date, she got a call from the doctor's office that one of the doctors had looked at the scans again -- and changed his mind about what he saw! She went for another scan that day. We've had to wait until today for the final word, but I got a call from my mom that it's GOOD NEWS! NO TUMOR! It is apparently a dermoid lesion on the bone that does not need any surgery, though they will check on it again in six months just in case.

My mom noted that the doctor questioned the scan the very same day I sent the prayer request out, and said you all must have been praying! I think God put it in that doctor's mind to say, "Let's look at this again..." when they had decided on surgery a full week earlier. The only thing that had stopped them from setting the date was that the scheduling lady was out sick for several days. We're so happy that Barb doesn't need the surgery, because it was going to be very risky even if the tumor turned out to be benign. Hallelujah! Thank you for praying!

Please do keep praying for her frequent severe migraines, though. Those haven't stopped even though the diagnosis has changed.
