A few things for my Orlando area readers

Dear Hope Chest friends,

I apologize to those of you who don't live in the Orlando area, but this is the quickest way I can get out some information to those who do.

First, our family is having a yard sale tomorrow (Saturday, April 3 from 8 AM to 1 PM) at 1925 Blossom Lane, Maitland, Florida.   We will have clothes, shoes, household items, furniture, books, etc. We live in the Bel Aire North subdivision off Oxford Road. The neighborhoods to the south and east of us, English Estates and English Woods, are having garage sales all through the community.  Our family is trying to prepare to convert our garage into another bedroom, which may or may not happen, but we're hoping to clear everything out quickly. (If anyone has done a garage conversion and has any advice, let me know. Thad has already lined up some potential contractors to do different things, but may still be open for estimates.)

Second, my almost 17 year old daughter Mary is looking for summer volunteer opportunities to fulfill her Bright Futures requirements. She would prefer to work for a Christian organization. She's especially interested in opportunities involving writing and teaching responsibilities.  If you have any ideas for her, let me know!

Third, Jessica Morman is offering Latin tutoring over the summer.  She says, I would enjoy tutoring 1 or 2 students at a time during summer break in Latin, providing them with guidelines on what to memorize and helping them put the parts together and translate. The program would be different from grammar or elementary age and the middle school through adult groups. I used Wheelock's and Latina Christiana in the past, but am willing to try another. You can contact her at [email protected]. Jessica, the daughter of my good friends Patty and Dennis, is a Patrick Henry College student, and an experienced Latin tutor.
