A long overdue update from Bob and "Shoulder To Shoulder"
Quote from glen on April 29, 2025, 7:51 amHello, Shoulders Friends!
Jo Ann and I are currently in Phoenix to visit some of her side of the family we rarely get to see. They have gathered to celebrate our grand-nephew, Trevor's graduation from Grand Canyon University. Internet connection is not the best in the motel where we're staying, but I want to give you an update on two or three things:
1. Our Summer plans are developing -- at least through August. Somewhere around May 20th we will begin a journey that will take us first to Cleburne, TX, where we will speak twice at an international pastors' retreat hosted by our longtime friend and fellow international pastor and his wife (in Heidelberg, Germany) Richard and Stephanie Blake. We traveled with them twice to Cuba a number of years ago. At the retreat we will have pastors from about six different nations including Ukraine and Cuba. I will be speaking on "Making Disciplers Who Make Disciplers" -- the title of the book I wrote for one of our "Timothy's" in Kyiv.
While in the Dallas/Ft Worth area we hope to see some of our grandchildren and great grandchildren (who we've never met), and also visit with Ron and Donna Marshall from Greer Chapel and LeRoy and Donna Pease from Chapel de Oro. From there we'll head to Springfield, MO, where we'll "headquarter" as we house sit for our oldest daughter and her husband, Cindy and Kevin Elder. They leave in three weeks for Spain where they will be involved in the production of a children's video about Queen Esther (of the Bible) in the Farsi language. That will be our home base at least through mid August and perhaps longer, depending on their return. They are supposed to be there three months, but that could change.
While there we will reconnect with several churches where we've served and see numerous friends, and also make some short trips to Illinois and Iowa to visit family, friends, and ministry supporters. And, Bob also hopes to do some work on another book about biblical vision. He first wrote on the topic over 30 years ago, and numerous people asked him to publish his articles as a book. (We'll see how that goes.) So, the next four months seem to be pretty full.
2. Bob and Cheri leave Tuesday the 29th for their huge trip from Yuma all the way to the east coast and then up into Canada before ending up at Bob's dad's home in Oregon. They will also return to Yuma in August.
3. Finally, we have some great news! Bob's new book, Making Disciplers Who Make Disciplers, has now been published and is now available (as of Sunday) in both Kindle and paperback form. In a week or two it will also be available in hardback as well. We are telling you this because so many people have been asking for weeks when the book would be available. Because it involves material we used in training our "Timothy Fellowship" and "Esther Fellowship" discipleship groups and many of them are vital subjects in the book, we have decided that all royalties from book sales will go toward supporting various ministries and friends in Ukraine. So, if you're interested, here's the Amazon link to the book.

4. I am still seriously consider resuming "Shoulder to Shoulder", particularly since I no longer pastor Greer Chapel in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona. We concluded our ministry there the end of July, 2024. So, you might pray about that with me. Much of my time is still occupied with research, Bible study, and writing. If I do resume "Shoulders", it will continue to be a challenge. However, so many of you have mentioned how much you miss the letters that I'm giving it serious consideration.
For now, this is all we have time to share. We still don't know what our September/October schedule looks like as we anticipate the return of our 9th year at Chapel de Oro. Praying that you are doing well and are blessed in every way possible.
In His bond,
Bob
