I wrote a poem! 😉AN HOUR TO SPEND
by J. Randal MathenyI have an hour, an hour to spend,
Before the day is past and gone;
What shall I do before the end?
What shall I spend these minutes on?Five minutes to pet the dogs a bit,
And ten to read the evening news;
Take five for chores, before I quit,
And five to relax without my shoes.Use ten to pester my daughter's locks,
And ten to tune to my wife's concerns;
Spend five to wind the batteried clocks,
And ten to water the flowers and ferns.In all that time allotted to me,
Which I spent in good and frivolous ways;
I failed to stop and bend the knee,
Reflect on the Word or give God praise.Before the final judgment throne,
We'll give account of all our acts;
Those extra hours were wisely sown,
Or tossed aside and lost in the cracks?Each precious moment given to use
Can never be recalled once lost;
Before they arrive we ought to choose
To make the best, for what they cost.For time is life; the calendar, chart!
With wisdom we'll avoid regrets;
By minutes sagely lived we'll part
With no concerns, no loss, no debts.1. Make it a conversation. Talk back ...

first name, city, state, and country.2. Share today's poem, as is, with a friend.
