The KEY TO CHRISTIANITY
-by Rodney W. Francis. As with many things in life, there is usually a key that has to be
used to unlock anything, from a door, to acquiring the correct
knowledge to undertake a certain action. It is no different in
Christianity. From Genesis to Revelation there is a key that runs
throughout Scripture. That key, when understood and applied,
unlocks the ways of God to us. That key is the hearing,
recognizing and obeying the Word of the Lord . . . obeying
whatever God says to us personally. The men and women of the
Bible only ever came to recognition after they had heard and
obeyed the voice of God. Prior to that they were unheard of
nobodys ~ no one knew they even existed. The principle of
hearing Gods voice, and recognizing that it is indeed the voice of
God, has then to be acted upon ~ obeyed. If we cannot commit to
obedience, then we are demonstrating doubt in that which we
have heard. Why do I say this? Because the voice of God is the
very truth! Nothing is more right and accurate than what God says!
To obey what God says is a demonstration of our love and
commitment to Him. Let me give you just two brief quotes:>From the Old Testament: So Moses came and told the people
>all the words of the Lord and all the judgments. And all the
>people answered with one voice and said, All the words which
>the Lord has said we will do. So Moses wrote all the words of
>the Lord . . . Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in
>the hearing of the people. And they said, All that the Lord has
>said we will do, and be obedient (Exodus 24:3-7, NKJV).>From the New Testament (Jesus speaking): He who has My
>commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he
>who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and
>manifest Myself to him. . . . If anyone loves Me, he will keep
>My word; and the Father will love him, and We will come to him
>and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does
>not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine,
>but the Fathers Who sent Me (John 14:21-24, NKJV).We stand or fall on what God says! Faith comes to us as a result
of what God says ~ and there is no pleasing of God without faith
being operational in our lives! If we have no knowledge and
assurance that the voice is God, then we do not know what to do!
Christianity is not merely a believing of certain teachings! It is
much more than that. When we hear from God, it has to be
followed through with an action ~ it is called obedience. Obedience
is a doing word. Until we obey, the word, even spoken from God to
us, lies dormant. It is our obedience that activates the word and
brings it through to fulfillment. We cannot get a more simple key
than that, and it is the key to New Covenant Christianity.Consider these Scriptures: Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Romans 10:4-17;
Hebrews 11.Pray This: God, I ask You to help me to be able to more
clearly discern Your voice to my life. Lord, I need to know Your
voice much more clearly than I do, so that I can obey what You
ask of me. Cleanse me of all doubt, and help me to recognize the
many different ways You want to speak to me. I do want to
demonstrate my love for You by doing what You say.~Website: www.gospel.org.nz
