Dear Hope Chest friends,I have changed my e-mail address from the one at Earthlink to [email protected]. Please update your address books! I haven't yet changed the e-mail addresses linked on my web site, but I'll get to that within a few days. (The Earthlink address will be forwarded for several more weeks, but you may as well change it while you are thinking about it!)I also added several pictures to the web page about my daughter Julia's mission trip to Bolivia. You can find it at www.VirginiaKnowles.com/Bolivia.My friend Debbie Klinect reminded me that Great Homeschool T-shirts is having their $5.99 sale on children's and adults' T-shirts until September 10. You can also get sweatshirts ($12.99 for kids' sizes and $14.99 for adults) and tote bags for $3.99. They have dozens of designs! Check it out at www.greathomeschooltshirts.com.If you have any prayer requests, there is a team of over a dozen ladies (mostly Hope Chest readers) who would love to intercede for you. You can send it to [email protected] or, for more information, visit www.VirginiaKnowles.com/WeArePraying.A week ago, our family had a delightful visit from our friend Ruthann Wells, who is a missionary to Italy with her husband Ken (who was our pastor many years ago at Orlando Grace Church) and their six kids. They have been in Udine for two years, and we are so blessed to hear of all the good things that are happening with the church plant, neighborhood Bible studies, and the Saints Bible Institute. If you know any high school or college students interested in a semester abroad, have them check out www.saintsbibleinstitute.org/!Here are my plans for the rest of this year's Hope Chest issues. You will notice that I am not going to be writing a lot of new material. As much as I like to write, I've got some other things that need doing around here (like home schooling, a busy two year old, and laundry)!
- August: Sometime in the next week or so I will send out an issue that is primarily written by my 12 year old daughter, Lydia. If you don't already know what an emu is, you will soon. Prepare to laugh!
- September: This issue will contain excerpts from Common Sense Excellence: Faith-Filled Home Education for Preschool to 5th Grade. If you have any preference about what topic(s) I should include related to preschool and elementary education, let me know!
- October: For this issue, I will review some terrific resources that have been collecting on my bookshelf.
- November: In honor of Thad's and my 22nd wedding anniversary, this issue will be an excerpt from The Real Life Home School Mom about marriage.
- December: My annual Christmas treasury (of course!), with a little something fresh and new tucked in.
As a reminder, I have set up a Christian Book Distributors affiliate web store. If you enter through my site at www.VirginiaKnowles.com/cbdstore, you can order anything from them, and I get a small commission.I think that's about all for now!Blessings,Virginia Knowles-- To subscribe, send ANY message to: [email protected] To unsubscribe, send ANY message to: [email protected] Visit my web site at www.homeschoolblogger.com/virginiaknowles or www://www.VirginiaKnowles.com
