Another gardening question

Hello again!

I have 10 pepper plants that are just beginning to bud and flower (my seed
packet said it is 68 days, 82
for red ones), I'm just wondering if anyone knows why it would've taken this
long to flower, when I should
be harvesting them now (I'm at 70+ days), all my hot pepper plants are
loaded w/peppers.
The plants have been nice and green (wondering if we possibly put too much
manure on the spot of the
green peppers?? we used chicken manure).

Anyone else with a pepper delay?
