Apple Recipe Question

I don't know if any of you live close to or have ever been to Barber Orchard in Balsam, NC. They have a little bakery there. They sell apple cake and apple muffins that are the BEST I have ever tasted. I have tried to find a recipe to even come close and so far nothing. Oh yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......... Scuse me while I wipe the drool from my chin. =) We used to go every October to see the leaves (we lived in Florida) and to get apples. When we got apples we ALWAYS got some cake and muffins to take with us. They also sell apple turnovers, but they are easy to find around here in Amish country. Has anyone else ever been there and no what I am talking about?
