Attaching a Strap to my Acoustic and Prayer request

I've been having trouble getting my strap to stay on the 1/4" input at the
end of my Seagull acoustic electric. The Planet Waves strap leather is too
thick for the length of protrusion of the input from the body of the guitar.
The threaded nut doesn't want to stay on the input to hold the strap
securely between the body of the guitar and the nut.. On my bass, I have
straplocks, but I haven't figured out how to get the same amount of security
with the acoustic's input jack. Any suggestions?

Also, I will be leading a few praise and worship songs for the first time
this Sunday in corporate worship. The church we are attending has been a
hymns centered, but wanting to do more contemporary music type church, so
I've picked a few tried and true worship songs (Shout to the Lord and
Awesome God) as well as a song I've written. Please pray that the
congretation may be able to worship our Lord.
