G'day all,
Back home safely a couple of days now from our 3 week vacation to QLD
(mostly). Plenty of sun, surf & relaxation, lots of driving, too. Don't
know if I'll bother with the digests I've missed.Dropped in on family in Wollongong (near Sydney) on the way home for 2
nights & a day. My brother Vic said he'd been very busy recently doing
lots of sound & lighting gear installation at his church. They took their
annual 'special offering' recently, which this year was targeting their
main auditorium. Their goal of AU$15,000 (about US$10,000) was reached
comfortably when they received $37,000! He's had fun putting in banks of
'splash' lights (don't know if that's the correct term), & picked up a 2nd
hand Allan & Heath GL4000 40ch mixer (from someone else's upgrade project)
for AU$10,000 (they retail around $25,000 he said - showed me the brochure,
very impressive!), plus radio mikes & other stuff. They've already spent
$25,000 of it. What fun! I shouldn't be, but I'm green with envy ...A few departures from our worship team now sees me playing bass every week
for some time to come. Well, I'm glad to have had the break when I did!Peter Sharp
