blues scales....Alvarez....

Doug....Ha!   The only two scales I know are blues scales!   There's the one I call the "acoustic blues scale" that's in the first three frets.  Lots of Muddy Waters riffs came from it.  Then there's the regular pentatonic scale that has the "blue note" flatted fifth in it.  Play it all over the neck.  Those are the only two scales I know.  Since I am trying to play songs with chords now as i'll be the only music i'm not sure i'll ever be using them.  However, I love to play them for warmups and finger exercises.

What's your op on Alvarez?

I'm proud of you for giving up the metal
stuff. However, don't discount
the utility of the blues licks. I play a whole lot of praise and
worship using bluesy pentatonic scale stuff.
