……If we say we have not sinned, we turn God into a liar and his Word is not in us.1 John 1 : 10

BY WHAT MANNER DO YOU SPEAK?
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak - Ecclesiastes 3: 7
Jesus, who was the wisdom of God incarnate, taught, "The words that I speak to you, I do not speak by my own authority. " He did not speak from the disposition of having any right to speak, but only through his right relationship to His Father. Our Jesus gave up the right to speak in a manner that would vindicate Himself.
By what manner do you speak? Do you have the tendency to jump in and speak with haste, with annoyance, or do you have the discipline to be silent when you know it will only cause disorder. One of the most important deliverances for a person is to discern when to speak and when to keep silent. Do you speak too much or in a wrong mood?
Oswald Chambers suggests that the reason we speak so much out of turn is due to the lust to vindicate ourselves, and the fact that cleverness is the ready ingredient in self-vindication. "I will make him smart for saying that about me!" That spirit was never in Jesus.
What motivates your speaking? Love of human praise; a secret fondness to be noticed; love of supremacy, drawing attention to self in conversation; a swelling out of self when you have had a free time in speaking or praying?
In the Bible the great test of anyone's character was the tongue (James 1:26). The tongue only came to its right place within the lips of Jesus. He knew when to speak and he knew when to keep silent.
USE GOD'S LIGHTHe who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life - John 8: 12
Suppose that you are walking in a field at night. There is a path, but it is dark and you cannot see the path clearly. Suddenly the clouds part, and the moon lights the path, but in a little while, all becomes obscure again. You clearly saw the path and you know that is there, yet, you must continue on your way.
That is life; we know where to go because we have seen the way, but now the way it is a bit obscured. You have seen the path; there is no doubt as to where it leads, yet we must go on and move in its direction, for the path will become clear, as walk it.
The thing about following the Lord is; we must never find our own way. In the natural world, we are encouraged to "take the initiative," to "go for the gusto," and that is all very well, but in contrast, God would have us to look for Him in all that we are doing and follow His lead.
To take our own initiative without the filtering our steps in the light of God's living Word, would mean we cease to follow Him. We are not to choose our own work or to determine where we shall go; what we must do, is follow His lead as He lights our way. God spoke the universe into existence, so we that we can follow in faith.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (Matthew 9 : 36)… Jesus said “Feed my sheep”. (John 21:17)
