Called For an Assignment

Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5b (NLT)
And who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:14b (KJV)
Peter knew his calling early on in life. When asked what he wanted to do after high school, his smile turned to determination and the gleam in his eye took on a pensive note. He would go on to study medicine and become a medical missionary to Spanish-speaking countries. That calling governed the classes he took in school, the intensity with which he studied, the activities he chose to participate in, and the college he would attend. I heard that he met a young lady in college who shared his calling, and I have no doubt that they are serving somewhere in Central or South America today.
Every born-again believer is divinely called. Your passion will lead you to your calling if you will surrender control of it to the Spirit of God. Matthew 22:14 says that many are called, but few are chosen. I recently heard a minister say that the chosen are the called who simply show up for service. The Lord has need of you; will you show up?
Lord Jesus, I say yes. Use me as You desire. I surrender to You; I am Yours. Amen.
