We should not assume that, because God promises to provide a way out of temptation, we have no role in our own rescue. God always provides a way of escape, but He may also require great effort from us. We take advantage of the way of escape God provides by exerting every resource He gives us to fight the enemy… To increase our faith and strengthen our character, God more often allows us to escape temptation by using the means of grace always available to us: conscientiously seeking God’s power and instruction through prayer, meditation on His Word, and the counsel of mature Christians are never passive endeavors.

Carolyn---my mom

My mom is doing awesome Carolyn....thank you for asking! A year ago she was in the throes of a horrible shingles infection, but praise God, she's recovered and is doing well. Her transplanted kidney and her new knee are working perfectly. She just left again yesterday for my brother's in Colorado. She will eat Thanksgiving dinner with them, then leave with them the next day for Galveston. On Saturday or Sunday, she along with both my brothers and their families will begin a seven-day cruise on a Princess cruise ship. I think she'll be home again December 9. We (except for my youngest brother who has to work) will gather at her house Christmas Day for our family Christmas. Since September, she has been busy teaching line dance classes and taking tap classes as well as performing around her town for nursing homes and charity groups. Those activities will resume in January.
