Childlike Faith

One day he [Satan] asked the woman
[Eve], “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in
the garden?” Genesis 3:1b (Life
Application Study Bible)
It is said that a man with an
argument can’t equal a man with an experience. A person who has experienced the
goodness of God knows that God is good, and nothing can take that away. He may
not be able to argue it eloquently, but that doesn’t change the fact of what he
knows.
I believe that God is faithful
because He’s been my Rock through the toughest times of my life. I believe that
He loves me because I have been captured by the cross. I believe that He knows
me because I have felt the glorious embrace of His presence. I believe that He
has a purpose for every life because every time the enemy has tried to end my
life God has been faithful to provide a way of escape. I believe God answers
prayer because I’ve watched Him answer them – often exceeding what I could have
asked for. I believe He does miracles because I’ve personally witnessed them,
both in my own life and in the lives of others.
Some would argue that all of this is
merely chance. That if God answered prayer then every prayer would be answered.
That if God did miracles, there would be no broken people. That if God cared about
the world today there would be no evil in our world. Some would argue that if
God loves people then He could not judge them. Perhaps they don’t understand the
strategies of the devil, the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2),
and the kingdom he has authority over (Matthew 4:8-9). But we are not ignorant
of his devices (2 Corinthians 2:1). God is not the “Great Magician;” He is a
loving Father who cares for His children. May you find rest in His embrace.
