you can't go wrong with them. However, if price, size or weight are
factors, I'd recommend looking at an SWR Workingman's 12. I had one up
until a couple of months ago. It's got a 12" speaker, 100W RMS (120 if you
use an extension speaker), on-board DI, effects loop, switchable piezo
tweeter, switchable compression, 3-band active EQ. I got mine used for
$300. I think they're $450 new.

I have a Question for all you Bass players out there. My son is wanting to
get a new amp, all he has right now is the 15w practice amp that came with
the guitar. We've been looking around and combo setup made by
Gallien-Krueger has caught our eye. The model is a Backline 110. It is a 70w
amp with a 10" speaker in a (imho) very small cabinet. Has anyone had any
experience with this line or have any good info on it? I'm concerned that
the small cab will adversely affect the sound. It does have a speaker out
jack, do you suppose it is designed to work with a larger cab alongside the
combo?
Does anyone have any better suggestions for budget priced amp setups?
