Ibanez Micro bass

Posted by: srolfe <srolfe@...>

The lower string tension of short-scale basses generally gives them a
nice, fat tone. Where they lack, is in the snap and punch department.

If you like a warm, old school bass tone, there's nothing wrong with a
decent short-scale bass. And Ibanez are usually pretty reliable.

Resale on shorties tends to be poor though, 'cuz they don't get much
respect in the bass community. All the more reason to score yourself a
good deal on a used one, if you decide to go that route.

Hint: Epi and Rogue Viola basses tend to hold their value a little
better, because of the Beatles connection...
