prayer request -- Hang in there!!!

I've been playing an awfully long time, and I can STILL get discouraged at
orchestra rehearsals. Don't sweat it. It's the nature of the beast. Is
the problem that you have to:
1) Sight read?
2) Play someone else's licks right off a CD?
3) Play something you're not sure you can handle?
If it's 1), a keyboard player can help you with that. If it's 2), hit the
ones you can and make up replacements for the ones you can't.
Non-guitarists will know that something's different, but not know what -- I
guarantee it. I do this all the time!!
For 3), 2) will cover most of it. Other hints: drop the lick an octave,
raise it an octave, play it in the first position, use hammering and
pulling-off liberally instead of picking each bloody note. If the part has
note pairs, keep the tonic and throw the harmony part away.
As for the rest, all of us will keep you in our prayers.
Come on, guys, any other tips for Douglas?
