My advice, is to really go for it, and get Kinman noiseless p'ups. As with most Australian-made products, shipping and the difference in their dollar makes them rather expensive if you buy them new, but deals can be had on eBay.

I put a set of his Strat pickups in a cheap strat clone, and they completely blew me away. Checking out amps in stores, people would come over to ask what the heck the guitar was, because it had such an amazing tone. I recently moved them to my Warmoth baritone, and they transformed that guitar, too.

The best part, is that they kill hum as well. I've tried others, but this is the only noiseless option that actually gives you high-end, boutique to-die-for single coil tone.

I got my set slightly used for $200 on ebay, including brand new high-quality pots, switches, etc., all mounted on a Fender SRV pickguard. After selling off the bits I
didn't need, I was left with the best pickup set I've ever heard, for a little over $100.

Killer. Probably the best guitar-related purchase I've ever made. When you consider that I've been in and around the industry for about 40 years at this point, that says something. I will keep these pickups until I die!
