Douglas,I have to say I feel for you. It's easy to get caught up in hurt feelings in
this situation, but we must remember this is all about Christ, not us. Seek ye
first the kingdom of God and His righteousness....... so it goes. I would
pray that you seek the Lord's will and have patience. Offer to serve wherever
they could use you musically, whether it be kids music or Jr.high or small
groups. Let the Lord guide you as to where He desires you to serve. If the worship
team is caught up in "performance" and not "ministry" then it's up to the Lord
to sort all that out and believe me, you don't want to be knee deep in all
that garbage - that's a situation that has the potential to cause a lot of harm
in the body. By my way of thinking, it's best to steer clear until you are led
to that particular ministry. Don't spread any disharmony or negative thoughts
and feelings about the team unless they are guilty of some particular sin,
then it is your duty to confront them, rather, emulate Christ and leave Him to
deal with them, and your feelings. It's a sticky situation with your friend
being there and all, but if you keep your eyes on Jesus, the junk that happens in
the world will not matter, even if the junk is happening in the church. As we
say back in the 60's - Keep On Keeping On!Blessings & Peace,
