[Worship] Guitarist in need of MIDI insight (I'm lost!!!)

"...or can I punch in a
preset and edit the parameters on the fly?"

You should be able to edit up to 2 parameters on the fly using the
FCB1010. When I was building my rack arsenal, that's what I was looking
to purchase next just for that reason (it has 2 built in controllers).
I'm back to just pedals now though (one piece of equipment goes up in
smoke and you lose interest).

You'll need to look through your manuals to find out the particulars, but
you should be able to assign any one parameter (at least one, sometimes
more) to either one of the continuous controllers (usually referred to as
"CC's in the manual). You usually set the high and low end of the
parameter for the controller to sweep through and set which CC controller
number will control that parameter. It can be really effective for
things like volume, gain (for going from clean to distorted gradually),
and amount of delay in your mix. Those are the things that I have tended
to want to adjust "on the fly", but there are tons of things you can do
with your tone. I know that, with some units, you can even use the CC
pedals as wah pedals (if the effects unit has that effect in it).

I hope this helps. Like I said, you'll need to read through the manuals
to get the full scoop on the practicalities of how to accomplish this,
but it can be very useful once you get it down, and like most things in
the audio world, it always seems more complicated than it really is.
