Dear Friends and Family,
It is once again our privilege to extend our Christmas greetings to you, our beloved family and friends. We are reminded that the only reason we celebrate Christmas is because God in His love sent His Son to earth! It is the birth of Emmanuel, God with us, that causes Good tidings of great joy at this time of year. If God had not sent His Son to earth to die for our sins and give us eternal life through faith in Christ we would have no hope after death. It is our prayer that you know Jesus as your Savior.
We celebrated the births of three new grandchildren this year. Samuel Philip Peters was born to Mark and Candace on April 19th. On July 28th Hannah Joy and Sarah Grace Spayd arrived to Tim and Donna. Dottie enjoyed grandma duty with Samuels siblings, Jared, Elyssa, and Josiah in Blue Island, Illinois. Later, she enjoyed a week with Noah before the twins were born as Donna spent a few days in the hospital. After that we both spent a few vacation days with Donna and Tims brood.
We also enjoyed spending time with David and Carlettas children this year. They are growing like weeds and the three oldest, Nicole, Ty, and Matt, enjoy playing soccer. Matt started kindergarten this year. The youngest two, Becca and Charissa, enjoy staying home with Mommy, playing dress up, and watching the adventures of Dora the Explorer.
Jack is in his tenth year as pastor of the Mount Union Bible Church, near Kittanning, Pennsylvania. He is still a volunteer chaplain at the local hospital and sends out his weekly Sermon Seeds on the internet and maintains the website.
Dottie is still a busy homemaker and pastors wife. She has been teaching the Ladies Bible Study this fall as well as helping in the junior church program. She is president of the churchs Willing Workers and enjoys buying for, collecting, wrapping, and filling shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
On the job front, Dave will candidate at a church in Old Bridge, New Jersey on December 30th. He is looking forward to getting back into the pastorate. Mark continues to teach at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois. Tim is still working installing security equipment while Donna and Candace both baby-sit at home. Besides keeping up with her five, Carletta volunteers at the older childrens school.
Well, thats the news for another year. Have a blessed Christmas and a happy New Year!
With love in Christ,
Jack and Dottie Peters
